Thomas Lowell was born in 1772 into a prominent Bostonian family. Growing up in the middle of the American Revolution, and then watching a newly independent country find its feet, he is proud to call himself a Patriot, through and through.
Happy-go-lucky and bright, Harvard-educated, and with an affinity for the natural sciences, he also does his duty to the family’s successful merchant business.
Which is how he has found himself in London, making connections, getting acquainted with distant relatives, and seeing a bit more of the world.
And discovering some of the unexpected charms of the English countryside.
